Legendary accomplishments...

Woohoo!

I just finished the first level of Halo 2 on legendary, solo! I've done most of the others at various times, but the first level is the hardest by far, especially the second cargo bay.

I beat my head against that checkpoint for a few days, often getting down to only a few elites remaining, until i thought to try going back to scavenge for grenades. Apparently i did the first cargo bay without using 4 sticky grenades, which is a belated godsent when you only have two guys left to kill. I made short work of it after that.

The key (or one of them anyway) is to push really hard as fast as you can. Hit the boarding parties with grenades as soon as they jump in, or if you can hit the grunts with rifle fire first so they drop their grenades before dropping yours in as well. The orange uber elite with teh sword can be taken down pretty easy if you stay back and let him come to you, especially if you grab a needler from the first cargo bay. Reds die by sticky instantly, and the rest just take patience and grenades and accuracy.

Its pretty scary how much damage those ultras can take. 2 plasma pistol powerups, a full clip of plasma rifle before overheating, then switch to a assault rifle for some head shots... phew!

btw, you can actually dualwield magnums for that level. Theres one in the hall outside bay 2, but i forgot about the one under the stairs that lead up to bay 1. Its a handy thing to know.

Anyway, after that the level was a relative cakewalk. For a finishing touch i assassinated the last elite in the cargo bay from behind with a good pistol whipping. Nothing like finishing with some flair. :)

Well, thats all. I just had to share that, my finest and most difficult halo2 accomplishment. :)
